Information Technology Support Specialist
Job Overview:
The Information Technology Support Specialist works to support end-users with the equipment and software they use daily. This position is often the first point of contact employees will contact when they have a problem. Resolving concerns, or escalating them in a timely and friendly manner, is most important. Remaining current on computer, peripheral, and mobile technologies is vital. This role will require great communication and documentation skills.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Onboarding Requests – Creating/Editing user accounts (RTPro, AD, Email, etc.)
- Offboarding Requests – Disabling all user accounts
- Administer incoming helpdesk support issues in a timely manner
- Configure new computer setups, phones, printers, and other peripherals as required
- Perform and assist with maintenance and updates for end-user’s computers
- Asset Management – Using applications lie Dou and Maas360 to manage corporate assets
- Accessing corporate devices via remote systems – Using remote software such as TeamViewer
- Configuring VPN and 2MFA access for users
- Ordering new hardware for branch locations (This includes network equipment, racks, etc.)
- Provide security support with the installation and updates of our Sentinel One End Point
- Periodic maintenance of facility security systems required
- Being an on-site resource for all misc. IT needs
- Troubleshooting network/Wi-Fi problems
- Provide emergency support for after-hours and weekend users
- Remain current with industry trends and new equipment to be proficient in the field and to assist in keeping Rentex optimal
- Perform other duties as assigned/needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficient IT skills, and knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and software problems
- Strong knowledge of Mac OS and resolving issues for Mac users in a timely manner
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS, MS Teams, and Microsoft O365
- Strong technical knowledge of peripherals, including mobile phones and other mobile devices
- Basic knowledge of networking and VM infrastructures
- Basic familiarity with Cisco and Meraki products
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities daily
- Ability to work some weekends, after-hours and on call as needed
- Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Azure AD a plus
