Rentex has an immediate opening for a full-time Transportation Agent (Monday through Friday) for our audiovisual rental warehouse. We offer a great work environment, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefit package.

As an audiovisual equipment rental company, Rentex depends on logistics. In this fast-paced role you will help cover equipment shortages, move equipment efficiently, document those moves and do it all creatively.

As a National Logistics Transportation Agent, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and secure shipments with various freight carriers. These carriers may utilize several types of vehicles, including Sprinter vans, box trucks, or trailers, depending on the specific needs of each shipment.

Your role encompasses both dedicated deliveries and last-mile logistics. In terms of last-mile logistics, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive quotes that cover end-to-end costs associated with shipping. This includes working with carriers such as Southwest Airlines (SWA), Forward Air, or any other service that necessitates last-mile delivery. For these shipments, you will generate an Air Waybill (AWB) for the initial leg of transportation and subsequently relay shipping information to the last-mile company that has been contracted for the final delivery segment.

Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Logistics Managers to facilitate the booking of dedicated vehicles specifically for internal transfers within Rentex. This aspect of your role is crucial for ensuring that all internal logistics are handled efficiently and effectively.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Provide LED quotes for the sales team, transfer cost for LED shorts and transportation cost for order deliveries/pickup as requested.
• Provide Sales team with quotes via 3rd Party for dedicated, forward air, or air cargo with last mile. Confirm with vendors as orders get approved.
• Follow up with vendors day prior to recovery to ensure on time pickup and delivery.
• Track shipments while maintaining communication on email threads between sales, logistics, operations, and the vendor on all shipments.
• Provide purchase orders to vendors, keep PO’s up to date while adding the BOL information.
• Monthly reports: Freight bookings, trucking issues, monthly cost, and others.
• Address issues promptly as they occur utilizing your skills and resources effectively. If challenges exceed your capacity to resolve, please escalate them to your manager Lonnie Kornoely.
• Review BOL’s for accuracy.
• As we grow other responsibilities will be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a GED
• Possess 2+ years of related experience.
• Prior experience in the audio-visual industry

• 2+ years’ experience in audio/visual, event production or a related field
• A strong knowledge of audio, video, lighting, and computer equipment and specifications
• Well versed in standard live event production practices and standards
