Quality Control Technician – Electronic & Audiovisual Equipment (Monday – Friday) – Boston, MA
Hourly Pay Range
$22.00–$26.50 per hour

Position Summary
Rentex Audio Visual & Computer Rentals is seeking a hands-on, technically minded Quality Control Technician – Electronic & AV Equipment to support equipment testing, maintenance, and preparation at our Boston, MA location. This role is critical to ensuring rental equipment is properly checked, configured, and packed to deliver a seamless experience for live events.
This position works a standard shift of Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Check in returned equipment and rental packages
- Perform quality control testing on audiovisual and computer equipment
- Diagnose, document, and repair items that do not meet QC standards
- Assemble and configure equipment racks and packages for client delivery
- Manage firmware versions for applicable devices
- Organize, label, and store tested equipment
- Ensure equipment is clean, presentable, and fully functional prior to delivery
- Utilize inventory software to assist with workload forecasting
- Plan workflow to meet hard deadlines and changing client needs
- Assist other warehouse departments as needed
- Follow all Rentex QC processes and procedures
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned

Technical / AV Knowledge
- 3–5 years of experience working with audio, broadcast, computer, and/or video equipment, preferably in a live event environment
- Experience with projectors preferred
- Good understanding of wireless audio systems
- Basic understanding of IP-based networking (wired and wireless)
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams experience a plus)
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in a warehouse environment with frequent hands-on interaction with audiovisual and computer equipment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and use hands to handle equipment. The employee must be able to safely lift or move objects up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

This is a full-time, hourly position. The standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Preferred Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical training or equivalent hands-on experience in audiovisual or electronic equipment preferred
